What level of asset protection services? Like a firm that can create LLCs, file S-corp formations, and registered agent service or a team of lawyers that help corporations/wealthy families navigate estate tax problems?

What is your goal?

If you have a mortgage there is no anonymity - if you are buying cash then you can shelter the assets etc. but I would not consider doing this unless you had more than $20M. Anything less than that the truth is the only person that cares is you, know one else does.

@Lakshmi Kotagiri You are confusing anonymity with asset protection. Two distinctly different subjects. It's normally the real estate investors who confuse the two and who obsess over anonymity who overspend on asset protection. I recommend first educating yourself on both otherwise you are ripe for the taking by a fear mongering attorney.

@Lakshmi Kotagiri With our without merit lawsuits will be filed and 99.9% of the time those who file the claims don't care who you are or even bother to find out before they file the claim. They name the LLC that owns the real estate as defendant and take inventory from there. If you believe hiding your identity will stop someone from filing a claim you're sorely mistaken.

This is a misconception many fall victim to and is the leading culprit for why so many spend unnecessary on these whacky asset protection schemes designed to promote anonymity. If you don’t want to be bothered by tenants hire a PM to answer calls and collect rent. If you’re looking to hide in the cloaks of secrecy believing that will avoid liability think again.
