FXAIX vs VOO in Fidelity taxable account for portability

Folks - it's possible we create a special needs trust (either at death or during lifetime) but I need to research that well first. Child's only 7 yrs old so a while to go but you never know what life brings on so we may set one up with minimal funding for now. My main - is VOO better suited than FXAIX? So far, we are only invested in FXAIX in Fidelity taxable accounts but thinking of switching to VOO given it's more portable to vehicles like SNT's. We may want to add future cash into VOO to bring it up to a 70/30 FXAIX/VOO portfolio long run. I know expense ratio & tax efficiency is very similar. Thanks

    @Sam Dal

    I recommend that you speak with an estate planning attorney regarding the special needs trust.

    VOO is an ETF and therefore more tax-efficient than FXAIX.

    I recommend working with a financial planner regarding your asset mix, i.e., taxable, tax-deferred, tax-free, stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.

    Good luck; happy to answer any questions.

    If VOO is quite portable while FXAIX isn't, I'm considering all future investments in VOO itself. Are there any downsides doing so within a Fidelity account? Of course, I'll engage an estate planning attorney on SNT trust but for the financial investment decision, it seems VOO is a no-brainer for taxable accounts

    Sam, I have a great estate planning office to recommend. They're based in NYC. They also have a department for real estate transactions/closings, and we happened to work together on a good amount of transactions with other BiggerPockets users. Sharing their contact in a private message...
