Just checked the MLS and rents on 2 bedrooms in my market vary from $895 a month to $8,719 a month. So a pretty big variance.

    I have a 2/2.5 1208 sq ft that rents for 775

    and 2/1.5 that rents for 650  tenant pays all utilities

    West side of Tallahassee  b/c area

    In South Orange County, California 2 bedrooms start at $1600 to $2000.

    Somewhat like asking what does a car sell for. A rat hole in the hood rents for much less than a penthouse with a view but both have 2 bedrooms.  A good way to get an idea locally is to find the apartment association and see what their median rents are for a two bed.

    my neighborhood in Chicago we're currently marketing for $1,350 and are getting more inquiries than we anticipated. 

    We may be $50 under market but we can be more selective in selecting our future renter and we can get the unit rented quicker.

    @Harold Valencia  I"m getting $1,100 for a 2 bedroom in Elizabeth as well.  As a contrast, a similar sized unit in Bloomfield (with nicer finishes) is getting $1,600.  Entry prices and taxes are higher than Elizabeth, of course.

    Depends on the neighborhood. In my tiny town of Independence, OR a nice 2 bedroom apartment with washer/dryer goes for $850/mo. But 20 minutes away in Salem, OR I have a 2 bedroom rental that rents for $640/mo. It's in the ghetoo and the building it's in is old. But It's cute and I have good tenants.

    We have some house rentals at $650 a month and apartments at the same price.  Salem Oregon.

    I've found rentometer.com to be a great tool for gathering rental comps for an area.

    Would depend on the type of property; Duplex v. townhouse v. sfh, etc. Ranges from 800 to 1,600.

    We get around 600 fro a 2 bed in Knoxville, and an additional 30 for water.  Rates are going up and we are starting to bump up the rates

    In my part of LA, 2 beds generally start around $2,500/mo and can go well above $10k/mo.

    I just signed a contract on a 2/2. Getting $1,100. First floor, higher floors $50 less.

    What part of Salem are you in? and what kind of price point are those houses?

    I am moving to Salem in the next few months and will be buying with the idea of turning it into a rental in a couple years when we I move.

    Silicon Valley for a 2/1 apartment approximately 750 sq ft $1950-2300

    2/2 apartment approximately 850 sq ft $2400-$3500 depending on the area and how renovated it is. 

    Wow.. seeing all these previous posts tells me that I need to move elsewhere. haha.
