@Mike Watson. You are correct I didnt bother to look you up and assumed a scam. But the SEC it seems has looked you up earlier and called you a scam. Actually you were labelled a ponzi scheme.
Typical reply of a scammer who gets called out. I have no need to defend my reputation here on BP. I have nothing to sell and nothing to gain. Warning of potential scams keeps this board useful and I am interested in that. This response should make it clear to all what @Mike Watson is about. I hope this thread shows up on all google searches on his name. People can make their own decisions on if they want to invest with him but at least the facts are on the table now.
It’s too bad that they don’t require decency to get A PhD, because you’d have to give yours back.
You’re just a bully in a society that doesn’t like bullying anymore. I’ve paid deeply for circumstances, issues and mistakes that I’ve been through and bullies like you are going to keep it going. I’m open about my life and the deep struggles I’ve had. I’m doing my best to move forward.
And my response isn’t typical, although I’m guessing you’d say just about anything to hurt another human being that is trying his/her best, with that ego of yours.
Again, kudos for your goodness and decency. I can see why you only have 115 friends on Facebook. Nobody pays attention to your rants over there either.
Lastly, I hope you encounter better people than you, if you or anyone you care about ever struggles in life.
This gets funnier every day. I googled you and found lawsuits and angry investors and newspaper articles about your past scams. You found I have a PhD and only 113 Facebook friends which like some 13 year old girl you think has anything to do with my credibility.
You are here selling a product. That’s not bad. But be clear. What are you selling and what does it cost? All your website and posts spout is generic stuff about changing your life. Typical guru scam tactics. If you are not that then clearly state your product and price and let people decide if they want to buy If you indeed have the magic sauce nobody else has figured out then why are you selling it instead of using it? Because like every guru the system is flawed and selling the system is more profitable than actually using it. Highest and best use is not a new term in REI. I have invested in projects but they are development projects. You can’t expect individuals with no background in development to do it. So you want them to invest in your projects. That’s Ok too. I have invested with syndicates that do the same. But you have burned past investors to the tune of tens of millions of dollars on a Ponzi scheme. What’s changed now? Deflecting the argument to call me a little man or a bully or counting my Facebook friends doesn’t change any of the facts above.
This has been fun but I think the facts are out there now and I don’t need to be on this thread anyone.
@Account Closed I think I have about 15 Facebook friends. I don’t care for Facebook for business. I don’t have a tweet account. Snapper chat or any of that stuff
But I think 🤔 were it counts my real estate peers 16k votes is good. And not sure how many followers but it’s a bunch
However like Fox News I have had my bumps in the road.
Jay Hinrichs you’re cracking me up with your social network names lol. That being said I agree with you. I actually deleted my Twitter because I saw no use for it.
I probably have 800 Facebook friends of which I probably interact with less than 50.
@Account Closed, I am done trying to communicate with you. You have judged and misjudged me and what I'm doing here and I am sure you will continue to do so.
You aren't attacking me to help anyone. People aren't stupid. I am all over the internet as even you've been able to see for yourself. That will always be the case with what I've been through.
This was a small event post in little Utah with a small handful of people saying that they are going to attend and you had to stop by and bully me and attack me, without even asking a question I might add. To see if you could take what I've been through and make it worse. Beat your chest a little bit. How sad is that Anish? And again, I know you don't care. I am not writing this for you. I am writing it for the other people that are sending me private messages and emails about how bent you are about bullying me.
I would happily explain my program, because it is different. The reason I do it is different. The goals we have for participants is different, but you haven't taken the time to learn that, you've just bullied and belittled. And I'm not here to sell something. I haven't even posted in BP where things are for sale. I have different reasons for what I do. And if I explained it, you'd simply criticize something else. That is what big egos and narcissism do.
Do you know how many phone calls and emails I've taken from people in this program that had a question about seller financing or what it is we do, that aren't in Utah? And I've happily helped everyone I could. There was nothing to sell, but people to help.
I have paid some heavy prices for things I didn't do and a few things I did. I did nothing criminal, dishonest or fraudulent. I wouldn't have received a civil complaint after 2.5 bloody years with the SEC, if that was the case. Even you should be smart enough to acknowledge that. But again, that isn't your concern because the truth is not why you are here.
How different could this whole thread be if you started out with a couple of simple questions instead of slandering and defaming me? But your ego got the best of you, and we both know why, perhaps you just can't see it though.
I was thinking today about what would drive someone as smart as you are to beat on someone who has been so much, like I have and I actually had compassion on you. I was going to reach out to you in private, because I don't need everyone to see me, like you do....... but then you bashed me again.
Well, I am done dealing with you. You've lived your life this long doing what you do to people. What chance do I have to change that? The sad thing is, is I used to be at least as arrogant as you are and the Lord has a way of only putting up with that for so long...... And then He takes it away through very painful occurrences.
Humble yourself Anish or that day will come for you. I will pray for you.
There are a lot of people on this forum who have amassed a large fortune (large in my opinion), and freely share advice. They might not give away all of their secrets, but they're helpful enough to get just about anyone headed in the right direction.
When I read things like "call me" or "come to my workshop" I put my guard up. I've listened to the first 107 podcasts, and @Joshua D. has talked about his disgust and disdain (my words not his) for gurus on so many of them, I wish I could skip ahead when I hear him winding up! But the lesson is learned. I know have "gurudar".
If one can make 6 figure returns wholesaling, why wouldn't that person do that until they're as rich as they want to be? And assuming that person felt so inclined, why wouldn't they then offer that information freely on a forum such as this?
I'm still wet behind the real estate ears, but my gurudar is really going off.
@Jay Hinrichs, I don't know anyone that has hasn't had their bumps in the road. Some are just less visible than others.
It is sad that there are so many egos on BP. I was warned when I came on here just how arrogant so many are. I've only seen two really arrogant people though, but it is glorious when you see it. I haven't decided how much I want to interact here because there are so few active participants.
What most don't understand is just how hollow the hubris is......... and easy to see too.
Anyway, I think it is commendable Jay when people try to help like you do. That certainly is a different approach than attacking. Thanks for the good example.
@Caleb Heimsoth, we actually do a fair amount of business on Facebook, but sadly every time you figure out an angle there, FB comes in and takes it away. That could be an amazing tool.
@Victor Evans, I have a ton of clients, partners and people I've worked with in your neck of the woods.
Man, the referrals I could send to you..........
How much work do you do with people in Baltimore, DC, Northern Virginia (Arlington, Alexandria, Annandale, Falls Church, Fairfax), Gaithersburg, Rockville, Bethesda, Hagerstown, Towson and Columbia?
All of my people are always looking for a great Engineer.
@Pat Jackson you’re very right on a lot of the questions and concerns you mentioned.
Wholesaling is often made to be this “easy” and great way to make tons of money, when I’m reality it’s actually quite hard. You have to find amazing deals ( because you’re a middle man). To do this requires tons of marketing money.
There was a podcast where the guest was a wholesaler and made something like 400k a month I think, but spent over 100k on marketing. That’s a ton of money to most people.
@Mike Watson I think Facebook is very useful for REI depending on what you do. I only do buy and hold and don't buy often enough that it would probably be very useful for me.
@Pat Jackson, Thanks for being positive with your comment. I do what I do for a couple of reasons. One of them is I love to partner with investors who find great deals for what we do.
Most of the properties I like to purchase are higher dollar ones that most investors can't afford and haven't had experience with. I don't do carpet and paint rehabs.
I have found that if people learn what it is that I'm looking for, then they find a deal and I can partner with them. I get a property that perhaps I wouldn't have found on my own and they get to share in a profit on a deal that they wouldn't have been able to do by themselves. Plus, they learn through the whole process.
Sadly, the guru world isn't what most think. Most gurus don't own any property, wouldn't come within a mile of helping a student/investor actually do a deal and try to profit just on seminars alone.
It is easy to think everyone is that way, but they aren't. My phone number and email is on everything here on BP. I'd love to chat more if you really are interested in something different. (And we don't work in Reno, if you think that there is a catch. I've spent a lot of time chatting with people from which I have nothing to gain.)
@Caleb Heimsoth, I see that you are a mechanical engineer. Nice! I've known quite a few investors with that background. I envy the a lot of you guys think. It can lend itself well to developments, entitlements, city processes and more.
Have you ever looked into that? I'll bet that you'd be great at that.
Well, this has certainly been an interesting post to read through. Yikes! Too bad people just can’t agree to disagree and move on.
I am interested @Mike Watson if you could give a short summary/some bullet points here about your program? I know you said not the old paint and carpet rehab, so what kind of rehab/renovation do you do (if any)? And also, use changes? I assume (dangerous, I know) you are referring to buying residential and changing it to commercial, or vice versa?
Mike part of the issues is when you lead with these huge profits it does raise eyebrows.. Marry that with Utah based ( guru backend factory state) and your going to get some feedback that you will need to back up .
and of course you would have nothing to sell if you just did what I did and told everyone chapter and verse how you do these deals.. that's what BP audience really looks for is detailed how to, and for free IE sharing with the community..
@Pat Jackson thanks for your comments and especially for not being vicious, cruel and slandering me.
I am new here to BP and the reason I don't freely talk about what I do is because the first time that I did, BP removed the post and sent me a message telling me not to do so.
I didn't offer to sell anything at all, but made reference to something that one of my students had done as an example in "my program" and someone reported me.
So now, I am very unsure of where the imaginary line is from where I am sharing what I do to selling something that I never brought up, offered a price on, put a link to or anything else.
I figured, if someone really wanted to know, they would reach out. I'm thinking whichever way I turn here, someone is upset somehow, especially considering some of the massive egos.
I heard that coming on here from a number of the people that I work with that are members, but didn't expect someone to find fault with nearly everything. I'm about done with this site, to be honest. I am surprised how little activity is generated out of what they are claiming to be 800k+ members. My own gurudar might go off at some point about that one. Bwahahahaha. (Now I'm going to get reported and threatened again I fear.)
I've fielded calls and emails from lots of people here and not offered anything for a price even once. I figure if someone is in the market for professional help, they will ask.
And sadly, most people tend to think the worst when they see something they don't understand. This thread is full of them. This simple little thread for a tiny event is proof.
And while you were kind, inquisitive and professional in your comments, your thoughts and post could be viewed as negative, "my gurudar is really going off." (Thanks again for not being ugly. I've had what seems like a lifetime of it.)
So, sorry to set off your gurudar again, but if you are genuinely interested, I'd be more than willing to personally chat offline. Have a great weekend.
Check back on this post in a week or two and it will be interesting to see if it is still even here.
This has been an interesting post. I've had a blast. About your comments, BP is very strict about what may be viewed as offering something for sale versus sharing information.
Admittedly, I haven't found the line where the sharing info changes into selling something as I have been warned on a post where I didn't solicit a sale, offer a price, place a link or anything close. I am thinking I got in trouble because I said, "my student" in a post and referenced "my program."
So, I am a little gun shy about teaching people really cool things here so I don't get threatened again.
I've encouraged anyone and everyone to call or email so I can speak freely and answer any and all questions, which apparently also sets off bells and whistles that I am trying to sell something, which I have yet to attempt to do.
So, I'd love to chat. Reach out if you are really interested. We do a lot of really cool things in your backyard. Found the most amazing deal right in Clearfield Wednesday, not far from you.
