Its getting to that time of month again where I start plugging our meet up here in South Austin. Firstly I would like to thank everyone that came to last months meeting to listen to what Russell our Austin Code advisor had to offer. I think he would be a huge asset to anyone looking to navigate the permit process here in Austin. For those of you who missed it or didn’t take down his contact info he can be reached at [email protected] to discuss any projects you have going on.

Moving on to the upcoming event we will be welcoming @Ricca Keepers from Keepers Consulting (https://www.keepersconsulting.com). Ricca looks to provide clients with due diligence information on utilities, platting, surrounding properties, all permits, subdivision, and any information the city/client asks for. As you can see this ties in very closely to Russells presentation last month and will help us add another tool to our toolbox when it comes to finding the right investment. I have personally used Ricca when I tried to buy a 3 acre lot in 78744 but Ricca’s study found that it was a terrible investment in terms of land usage and flood plains.

Our goal of this meet up is to provide our members with the much needed tools they need to make smart, wise investments and avoid buying potential headaches that can break a REI's dream in one bad deal. Following the trend I tentatively have a Texas certified Risk mitigation analyst lined up for the September speaking slot to talk about how we can protect ourself and our assets from natural and legal disasters. Also from a direct request of our members we have lined up a property management company to present in October. Your feedback is invaluable in shaping the future of this meet up and I would urge you all to provide some feedback so I can ensure I line up the right speakers with the needs of the group. Finally I want to thank the group for powering through the location at the last meet up. The location was not what we expected and as a result we have changed it once more. We now have a confirmed private room and is available on an ongoing monthly basis so we hope to consistently use the new location of Umi Sushi Bar & Grill.
