Hi all!
I’m trying to plan the furnishing of my 4 bedroom home in Indio CA. But I wanted your guys’ advice. I live in LA, which is about 2-2.5 hours away. I also work a 9-5. So it’s not always easy for me to go to the property. I was actually planning on maybe taking a week off from work to work on furnishing the home and hire help to assemble the stuff and position them in the home. But I still am a little concerned about buying stuff online and trying to time when they get delivered. What would you recommend to me to make the furnishing of my home easier?
Hi! I’d recommend sourcing a storage unit near the property and working with the staff to send everything there. Very easy if coordinated properly and has worked well for me. Best of luck!

There are many companies online that will help with that. I just saw an ad for a company that charges $1000 + furnishings on Insta. Not sure the name now..
Some furniture stores utilize delivery companies that will hold your furniture for you until it's ready to be delivered on a day of your choice. I am doing this now with Living Spaces, and I had to push back the delivery date by 2 months and they aren't charging me any fees for it.

Thank you guys for the advise! I think I’ll order some items at the store and online and try to manage the delivery timeline the best I can. Do any of you guys happen to know if delivery people will drop packages off inside the home if I temporarily give them passcode access via my front door smart lock? Amazon does this but not sure if this is common practice for all delivery people.

Rob from Robuilt has some great recommendations on his YT called "These things will make you more money on..." and includes rugs from rugable.com and where he gets his pots and pans, vs what type of coffee machine. Some of that is stuff I gleaned from this forum, but others are new to me.
I'm up three years and have bought one house each year and am learning each time I put a house in service. My cheaper couch and loveseat at the first house is already getting saggy. I just bought a better quality couch (using Memorial day sales) at La-Z-Boy due to its warranty. Thought it was too expensive the first time...but am now considering an upgrade. Buy quality once. Those rugs I mentioned are washable, which makes sense to me at my beach side property. Knives matter to some guests. I bought cheaper in the beginning and replaced knives later.
