Hello - new to forum so if i have missed a step please help guide me.  I will be closing on a cabin in wears valley at the beginning of FEB and plan to continue to manage it from the likes of VBRO.  Would anyone be willing to share some vendors they have used in the past?  I've been searching around for cleaning/maint providers and have only contacted a few.  Appreciate the help

@Matthew Cox this is a very difficult market to find reliable vendors without someone making an introduction for you into the network. If your agent can’t provide you with a few contacts, I recommend finding nearby properties on the booking platforms and messaging the owners until someone is willing to give you a contact. Go get ‘em!

@Matthew Cox The main person you will need to be successful is a great cleaner. They will be your eyes and ears. I found a great one at a great price off Craigslist. Find several, interview them at the place they will be cleaning. Pick one and start using them in the off season so that if they don't work out you can easily switch. You can also go with a company so that there is a backup within their company. A company will typically cost you more. My neighbor has a company cleaning his VRBO and he pays top dollar and complains about them all the time.

@Matthew Cox  We’ve been in this market for about 4 years. You picked a good one. Cleaners are of course the number one ingredient to a successful VR in any market. If you don’t want to self manage we find Ecolve is the best option. @John Underwood always has fantastic advice. Self management is easy from anywhere in the world should you choose to go that route.

But to answer your question... ask your agent for contacts to get you up and running.

When we first started I messaged 500 other hosts on AirBnB and vrbo asking them to help me. I finally found one that did. But still had a hard time finding a decent cleaner. Enventially I found one but had to let her go a few months later. My best suggestion is just never give up and your network will grow!

Good luck let me know if I can help.

@Matthew Cox am on the road but send me a PM and I will pass along some contacts. Can't say they will be right for you, but they are for me and may have room for another property.
