Airbnb investing in Orlando

Hi. I’m looking to purchase an airbnb investment properties in the Orlando area to tale advantage of the tourism industry. I am not too familiar with the area and was wondering what the best areas to invest in would be. Any other information that anyone has regarding airbnb investing in orlando would be great. I am a newbie in real estae and was looking for something in the 120-150k range. Thank You

@Matthew Bowden to my understanding airbnb is allowed within the city limits of Orlando only if you reside at the property yourself. I just closed on a 2 door multifamily in downtown and intend to airbnb out 1 property and live in the 2nd.

@Sid Payne I would love to receive any insights you have as well. I still have a few months of renovations ahead of me, but hope to hit the ground running once my properties are done.

    You're looking for the cities surrounding Orlando in that price range. Airbnb is not allowed in the city limits of Orlando. The area surrounding the tourist destinations is extremely saturated, however, we do well!

    Hi Mathew, 

    Are you looking for something turnkey? At that price point, you would be looking at a low-end area not good for AirB&B. A condo would probably be your best bet. I can help you find something that would work, if you're looking for some assistance PM me.

    Osceola County is easier than Orange for short term.

    @Matthew Bowden how has your Airbnb search been going so far?

    @Sid Payne I am looking in Orlando area as well. Would be super grateful if you can share some of the info that you have about Airbnb rentals in the area

    Happy new year all!

    Wanted to follow-up on this thread.
    I went forward with setting up one of my properties as an Airbnb, check it out here 👉🏾 http://www.airbnb.com/p/thebun...

    Applied for a STR permit, paid the annual fee and listed the property after the permit came in.

    The property is based in Orange County  and Airbnb collects the required taxes. So far so good.

    Am now browsing for my next investment.

    @Matthew Bowden did you end up purchasing something?

    @Jenny Morrison I purchased a short-term rental in Osceola county in early April. Obviously the Disney shutdown had impacted STRs close to the resort. Are you seeing any bookings? Are your rentals Disney focused? I have reserves but I would really like to get closer to cash flow soon. I’d appreciate any insights you have on STRs in the area. Thanks!
