I have two cabins in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area that I purchased earlier this year. For those with experience in this location, can you provide a little insight on what is expected for holiday decorations. Based on the questions I have received from interested and booked guests, decorating is a selling point. I don't plan on going Clark Griswald but also don't want to under deliver. Thanks in advance for any guidance or suggestions.

I have one owner who doesn't decorate and ironically he's very Christian and celebrates himself.
Pretty much everyone who stays over Christmas asks what the decorating situation is and a bunch of the December stays will ask too.
I'll usually put up a tree and a lit garland or wreath plus a few pieces of tabletop decor. Nothing extravagant but definitely lets you know the holiday is here.
I havent had complaints about it NOT being decorated but I'm generally proactive in letting them know to bring their own tree.
Crazy that Christmas decor is starting to show up in the stores this early, isn't it?

Thanks everyone, very helpful. @Luke Carl I learned my lesson I need to search the forums every day before posting. I checked last week for a similar post and didn't see anything recent, just shows how active the bigger pockets forum is.

Pigeon Forge has several large year-round Christmas shopping stores. And a Christmas parade in early December. And a Trump souvenir store too, but that’s another topic. They seem to do Christmas big. We just bought a seasonal “holiday” wreath for our cleaner to swap out with the pumpkin wall hanging that’s there now. When in doubt, ask your guests but if you do, be prepared to act on their answer.

My cleaner sets up artificial trees that I bought for the cabins with some decorations and some lights and ribbon etc. on them. The decor is confined to the tree. Going to have to buy some stuff for my new ones!

I’m in the middle of buying trees for our cabins (this is our first Christmas with them) and I plan on just doing the tree with lights and decor. Maybe a wreath for the doors if I can find a good deal. But that’s it.

My wife is a Tree fanatic and so we've built up to about 8 or 9 trees in my basement that she will normally put up in and around our house. Well, two of those will be heading down to our cabin and then she's ordered two others to be placed strategically in and around the cabin. We'll also put some lights up and we'll see what kind of reaction we get. I don't know, but I feel there's something a bit magical about being in a cabin decorated for Christmas in the Smokies, especially if we get some snow! We're probably overdoing it I know, but hey that's how we roll :) We'll probably hold off on the Trump ornaments though :)
