Does anyone have a contract that they use for renting a STR and are willing to email to me? I wouldn't hold anyone liable for anything etc etc etc and I'd adapt it. Thanks so much.

Ok, so VRBO sent me the PDF. I need to do some editing/reformatting and I can send it to you. This is very specific to our rental but there is a ton of generic stuff as well. It is long with lots of topics. 7 pages I think.

Although you probably know this, I don't fool around with any agreement. I just verbally tell them to pay a weeks rent when they move in, and another weeks rent after 7 days, repeat. It would be hard for me to enforce anything written since these people work on the road and 1/3 live in another country.

We have one we use for our vacation cabins who covers the outdoor pool and other potential liabilities. As a fellow New Yorker, I am similarly Type A about having everything in writing and signed before a guest checks in.
You may want to consider a separate rider if you have bunk beds, garage, pool, bbq, or other items that you want to specifically call out.
Can someone please send me this as well. Just started doing STR and have had a lot of request to direct book and would like some type of agreement to have signed to CYA. Thanks!

Hehe none. There are parking restrictions, but I am flexible depending. There are timber rattlers in our area, but I haven't seen any near the house. We used to find the nests all the time on the other side of the lake where we lived. Not too big or aggressive.
You have a unique and fun life there @Paul Sandhu. Next time I do a cross country trip, I am stopping by to say hi!

Ok, rental agreement sent to all who requested it. Just mention me in this thread if you want a copy and I will send it.
Remember, I am not a lawyer, just an engineer who is a stickler for details. I would highly recommend you modify this as needed and run it by an attorney to make sure it works. I had this run by a friend of mine who is an attorney who thought it was OK.
Having said that, no agreement can protect you from negligence or someone who is out to getcha.
