Earth-Sheltered Housing Developer - Building Homes That Free Families

Ashley Smith

Hey everyone - Ashley here from southwest Missouri.

I came into real estate development through an unconventional path - no formal background, just a growing frustration with watching affordable housing programs trap the people they're supposed to help. I've always been drawn to sustainable building and working with natural systems, and a few years back I realized those principles could solve real problems in housing affordability.

So I started Bright Home Investments and a companion nonprofit to prove it - earth-sheltered construction paired with community land trust models. The approach cuts construction costs significantly while preserving habitat and actually liberating families instead of burdening them. Currently developing projects in Missouri and Arkansas.

I'm strong on vision and strategy, less naturally wired for operational execution - which is something I'm actively working on by building out my team. I'm here to learn from people who've scaled impact-driven real estate, navigated creative financing, and built systems that actually work.

Looking forward to connecting with folks who understand that some of the best solutions come from outside traditional pathways.
