New to the Columbus area

Hello my name is Lester Scott. I am currently a new to the Columbus area. I am originally from Youngstown. Would love to be directed towards any workshops or meetings involving Real Estate in the area.

You are more then welcome to come and hang out with us!

Thanks Jen. I still plan on investing into the area as I still have plenty of family there and also a home. Appreciate the well wishes though

Appreciate the invite that is not actually far from where I stay. I will certainly look into trying to make it. Is it just a general networking type of meeting or some specific purpose?

@Lester Scott Welcome to the site and your are surely welcome to come to the meetups on either Friday or Saturday and @Tony Stewart there surely is room for 2 more!
Tony I am curious why you "recommend" those 2 events... Have you been to them? I only ask because each time I attended them I was clearly being pitched something more expensive and I have no interest in that kind of atmosphere.
Lester the meetups that we do with BP folks are virtually agendaless and the ones I am a part of will remain that way, they are for new or seasoned investors and the only ones who I plan to turn away are those folks who are clearly farming a meetup for newbies who may be a sucker for a paid "mentoring program"
I have seen other folks recommend COREE which is the meetup with the most consonants and vowels!! I have yet to make it to one but they may have a membership fee
Also @John Horner ... the man asked you a question "2) what's up with the Todd Smith meeting?" Im curious to read your answer... lol

Hey there! Let me clarify my recommendation. It was based solely on initial research I was able to do to determine what local RE8 groups are functioning.
Of them, I went to my first COREE meeting since returning to Real Eatate. It seems that this group is actually a reboot of the old Columbus REiA that all but folded a few years ago when the market went bad.
It is now being led by Vena Jones Cox who provided some good content. In addition, there was a gentleman that demoed a software system that he build for RE investors. He also shared some good marketing info.
I did join this group last night.

Disclaimer, I have not been to the meetup, but a friend told me Todd walks in with a tie with $100 bills on it and a pimp hat, and all he does is pedal his guru program the whole time. You can take this however you want.
The reason I would never DEAL with him is because we had agreed on a co-wholesale together last year, and Todd went behind our backs, contacted the seller, got the property in contract and told us we were getting a $500 wholesale fee for bring him the lead. Keep in mind this was our lead, we mailed to them, we took the call, we talked to the seller. We were going to co-wholesale with Todd because he specializes in war zones and we like to stick to better areas.

Intresting..... you aren't the first one to have a good experience there. I'll have to make time to try it out. I am curious though, how much was the software program?

I've been an active member of COREE for a year and a half, and I rarely miss a meeting. Yes, the speakers often (not always) have something to sell, but in my experience they provide good content before their pitch. I'm willing to sit through a 5-10 minute product pitch for good content.
The main reason I go is the people. There is an informal "meeting after the meeting" at Buffalo Wild Wings where I can catch up with what other members are doing. I've made several valuable connections through COREE.
