Hey guys,
my name's Al and this is my first week as a member on bigger pockets. I live in Boston and am just getting started investing in real estate. I own a small multifamily but have joined biggerpockets primarily to learn about apartment building syndication. Although syndication is my immediate interest I'd like to connect with anybody who's currently in real estate - especially if you're located in the Boston area.
Welcome to Bigger Pockets. You can search Bigger Pockets Members list and look for members in your area who have information associated with their names pertaining to what you are seeking.
You may have noticed that Bigger Pockets has various resources: ebooks, blogs, forums, podcasts, webinars, colleagues, keyword alerts, an awards system, a learn section, informative people in many fields of real estate, and more.
We are considered to be the average of the 5 people we spend the most time with so connect with REIA meetings, accountability partners, and mastermind groups to engage with individuals interested in real estate investing.
If you have time consider spending 30 minutes for 30 consecutive days on Bigger Pockets. You will receive an Addict award along with a habit; as well as learning and retaining useful real estate information without struggling.
At the bottom of this page is a list with help in it. Click on help. You will see answers to questions that you didn't even think of.
Looking forward to sharing insights with you in the forums.
There are so many areas here at BP where you can expand your learning. Boston has numerous RE meetings, as well as, other groups and sites you can become part of, or just one time stop in's to network and grow.

HI Al! Welcome to BP.
I echo the above comments. I also recommend listening to the BP Podcast. Apartment building syndication is definitely sophisticated, the podcast might inspire you to look at some other opportunities that are similar and expand your portfolio.
I think @Paige Clarke has the right idea. Syndication is definitely quite sophisticated. Furthermore, the cost runs high enough that you typically want to deal with a good amount of investor money (500k+) before considering the legal cost.
We've invested in one, and we're very happy with the way our partner has managed the relationship. I recommend getting hooked up with someone who is familiar with the syndication process in Massachusetts. You may even consider investing in another syndication to learn some of the ropes and 'pay for your education.'
