Hello everyone. My name is Corey and I am from Dalton, GA aka the flooring capital of the world! I am a flooring salesman and MBA student. I enjoy my work very much, and honestly, the MBA is just a plan B to ensure that I always have value somewhere and never have to worry much about money. That's not to say I don't enjoy learning about business and value the knowledge, but you know what I mean :) But, I would truly love to become a successful investor, even if it meant on a part time basis while I continued in flooring. I read J Scott's Book on Flipping Houses and learned a ton. So, I am here to learn even more from you all and perhaps even network a bit. If I can secure financing, I would like to begin my first flip in 2016. Thanks for reading and best of luck to you all!
Welcome to BP Corey! BP is a great place to be and learn. Right now I'm in the learning phase, reading books and listening to podcasts. There is some really great stuff on the podcasts if you haven't checked them out yet. I see that you read J Scott's book on flipping houses, I haven't read that one yet. He is in 2 of the earlier podcast that I know of and gives some great info.
My current plan is to learn as much as possible and attempt my first flip this time next year. If all the chips fell into place before then I think I would take the chance though lol. GGood luck to you!
Hey Chris. Good to meet a fellow Georgian! Yeah, I have heard a lot about the podcasts and will definitely get around to checking some out. In regard's to J Scott's book, I definitely recommend it. He very clearly spells out every little step of the game. A great resource. I don't know if this offer is still available, but when I purchased the book, it also came with the book on estimating rehab costs. I haven't gotten into that one yet, but I'm sure it won't disappoint. Good luck to you on your first flip! I think the most critical part is just taking the first step after getting educated. Once you can work up the courage to take the plunge, it is (hopefully) game on!

Hi Luis! It is hard for me to give details on what I can offer you without knowing precisely what you are looking for, but the short answer is yes, we do receive some steeply discounted products on a regular basis. On carpet we get a lot of seconds which have such minor flaws that the human eye can't detect. I don't want to break any forum rules by getting into too many details, but if you would like to private message me, we can take it from there. Ultimately, deals are going to depend largely on quantity you are looking for and if you prefer running line (always available) products over discontinued.
Welcome to BP. I am also in the Dalton area working with another investor doing rehabs and flips. You might look into the local Home Builders Association for selling contacts or you might be able to sign up to give a presentation at one of their monthly meetings.
