My husband and I decided to capitalize on the appreciation in our primary residence (yes the market here in Portland is CRAZY right now!) and use the equity to invest in rental property. We can't wait to get started but nervous too!

Locate and attend 3 different local REIA club meetings great place to meet people gather resources and info. Here you will meet wholesalers who provide deals and rehabbers (cash buyers). Find them through Google and meetup.com

Congrats Cheryl! That is extremely smart! I'm a lender locally in Portland. I would love to connect with you and educate you on how you can make that happen. I don't advise anyone to do that until they're properly educated. But the rewards outweight the risks! Especially in this HOT market.
