Good evening everyone!

I am currently living in Colorado Springs but the Air Force will be sending me to Wichita Falls, TX for pilot training at the end of June. I am new to real-estate investing and I am looking forward to learning more! If possible, I would like to purchase a duplex or a single-family home and rent out the rooms while in Texas ( I won't be able to handle much more than that due to the rigors of pilot training). Other than that, I plan to continue living well below my means and saving money so that I will be in a great place to become a buy-and-hold investor in the winter of 2017.

welcome to sheppard...I am a former AF pilot and now full time real estate insvestor/realtor in WF (my husband is still active duty and an IP here at Shepard). Holler if you have any questions! We love it here. Both went to school in CO though- so not as cool as C Springs...

    Hey @Tramaine Barnett!

That's a great idea to help build some income while you'll be away from CO Springs.  Additionally, it's wonderful to see that you are already planning for how you will be acquiring future properties. Good luck and safe travels.

Welcome, Tramaine! I'm also military investing in Colorado Springs. Shoot me a message if you have any questions or want to meet up some time.

Speaking of meetups, I would highly recommend you attend some of the local REI meetups, head over to Meetup.com and you should be able to find a few in the area.

Hi Tramaine, I would imagine there is a good chance you have moved on from Wichita Falls by now. Are you still looking to invest in the area?
