Hi everyone,

I'm a new member from Canton,NY looking to get into the real estate game and learn from others here on BP. I graduated about a year ago with a Bachelors in Finance and moved back to my hometown in Upstate NY.

I'm currently about to close on my first deal on a SFH rental and it has been a very rewarding experience and I'm officially hooked. At this point I'm mostly interested in the buy and hold side of RE. I'm looking forward to hearing from other BP members on their experiences and hopefully will keep learning a lot!

Thanks!

Brandon

    Welcome Brandon, I'm another newbie from upstate NY. Buffalo to be exact. In the middle of financing my first rehab that I just bought. I'm always looking for new contacts in NY so message me if you have any questions or are interested in partnering on something. Cheers, Andy Graziano

    Thanks @Andrew Graziano,

    Congrats on the rehab deal, I'd imagine there are some good opportunities for rehab and buy/hold in the Buffalo area. Good luck on the rehab and I'd be interested to hear more when the projects done.

    Cheers,

    Brandon

    @Brandon Bartley

    Welcome. Take a good look at student housing see below.

    Locate and attend 3 different local REIA club meetings great place to meet people gather resources and info. Here you will meet wholesalers who provide deals and rehabbers (cash buyers). Find them through Google and meetup.com

    Two Great reads, I bought both J. Scott The Book on Flipping Houses, The Book on Estimating ReHab Costs http://www.biggerpockets.com/flippingbook

    You might consider Niche or Specialized Housing like student housing. Rents can be 2-4 times more. Remember you don't have to own a property to control it.

    Download BP’s newest book here some good due diligence in Chapter 10. Real Estate Rewind Starting over

    Good Luck
