Hi All - I have been a BiggerPockets member for a while now, but just now getting settled in and introducing myself.  I've been interested in Real Estate for a good while and purchased my first property in June 2015 in Corpus Christi, TX on North Padre Island.  This was the absolute worst time to buy for us (we were getting married 3 months later in Hawaii so we really didnt have any extra money for the property) but I was so tired of talking about real estate investing instead of doing it so I pulled the trigger.  It has been great!  We are currently listed on AirBnb (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7578308?preview) and VRBO (https://www.vrbo.com/779351?unitId=1327289) and have had great success so far.  We renovated the entire condo and that was really a disaster but a fantastic learning experience.  The only true way to learn is by doing.  My wife and I have spent the last 6 months wiping out student loan debts and we will be out of debt in a few more months and ready to buy another property!  We will most likely be looking for another vacation rental so I am always willing to sync up with people who know the North Padre Island area front and back and know the vacation rental industry.
