Hello everyone my name is Chris Marshall. Currently I sell insurance through State Farm but I'm looking into real estate. I am currently listening to the podcast about the ultimate beginners guide as I write this. After I get done with this I am going to look for the terms of the trade and try to gain some knowledge. I just wanted to introduce myself and see if anyone near me was on here. If anyone has any tips for a beginner I would be very appreciative.

Hi @Chris Marshall, welcome to BiggerPockets.
You are on the right track, getting familiar with the terms of the trade and reading about investing. I'd also start thinking about where you want to invest, and once you decide that, contact a real estate agent to set you up to receive listings from that area.
Getting to know your market - what is selling at what price in what condition - is another great step. You won't be able to recognize a good deal if you don't know your market.
