Hi all! My name is Stephen Pelcher and my wife Athena and I have made it our goal to begin real estate investing! I am a Senior Manager at a regional accounting firm in the area and my wife is a self-employed hair stylist.

As for real-estate experience, we have none with flips or rentals. In reading "How to Invest with Little or No Money Down" we essentially followed the first-home strategy to the letter; buy out of foreclosure with FHA, minor renovations to home and yard, sell later for profit. From childhood through college I have done basically every construction and landscaping project you can think of and would be comfortable handling "minor to moderate" repairs in a home.

For goals, in the short-term i would like to add another stream of income to our lives while learning as much as possible during the process. Within 10 years I would like to replace a significant portion of my wife's income and would like to have the experience and capital by that point to expand her current business into a larger, commercial building. Both of our parents will eventually move here and I would like to turn it into a family endeavor which should help keep them active during their retirement years and give me the opportunity to focus on my career. Finally, the ultimate goal would be to purchase a small summer home in Iceland and a small winter home in the Caribbean!

What I am looking for is anything and everything. I want to meet people, learn from them, develop a real estate network and stay active in the community in order to have people we trust giving us good guidance and opinions.
