Hi Everyone,
My Name is Joey Kopp, and I am a Newb! I'm new to real estate, wholesaling, and biggerpockets.com. I have always been interested in real estate but knew very little about how to get started and where to find the time. I recently quit my job as the sales manager of a large Powersports dealership to get started in wholesaling. I very much look forward to learning, growing, and enjoying life.

Connect - There are numerous REI meetups in the Tacoma and Seattle area. If you are already going to each and every one, I would start. These people are your mentors, partners, clients, etc. etc.
Read and Listen - I would commit yourself to listening to EVERY BP podcast, yes, all 274 of them, every moment you are in the car, working out, whatever. And keep a list of all the books that mentioned more than once or that stick out to you. Buy them and read them. As newbies, we have to put in a serious investment in time to our education so that it will pay returns later in our finances. If your're not sure where to start, read Rich Dad, Poor Dad first, and start listening to podcasts.
Questions for you:
1. What areas are you looking to work int? Pierce, King, Thurston, ...?
2. Have you done any deals so far?
3. Are you only interested in wholesaling?
4. Do you have a way to pay the bills until those deals start coming in consistently?

Hi @Joey Kopp! We're also Tacoma newbs! We're going to a Meetup (Monday, April 16, 2018 Dinner, Drinks, & Deals - Southend Edition) at The Ram in Lakewood for networking. Hoping that networking is a good place to start!! Also, if you haven't yet, start watching the Podcasts. There's TONS of great info there!

Hi Joey!
My wife and I have 2 SFRs in Tacoma near 6th and are looking to buy a fourplex soon in the same area.
We’re trying to stay under $400,000. And each unit should have a target rent of around $1000 each.
Maybe it’s too dreamy... but holler at me if you have a deal that somewhat resembles this!

Yes, Take a look at Tarls stuff even his free stuff is good. If you want to network or learn check it out his meetups. We have a company trip to st. lucia that was booked somehow I had forgot about the big event. or we'd have been at the expo.

Thanks for all the info guys! I'm excited to be here. Rich dad poor day will be delivered today! I have a mentor that I am working for with his LLC. He has been wholesaling for over a year, did well and now getting himself into the buy and holds and fix and flips while I take over the wholesaling side. The idea is to follow that foot path and learn as much as I can while wholesaling. We work in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties and have direct mail consistently going out, as well as cold calling, and driving for dollars. All leads are put into a crm and I have picked up were he left off since April 1st. I have seen a couple houses, made a couple offers, but still no deals for me yet. Any tips for follow up would be helpful?

Hi @Joey Kopp! Are you still active here on BP? I am interested in meeting wholesalers to get some boots on the ground in the Tacoma area. I live out of state now, but am still invested in T-town. Sounds like your mentor had a good little system started there. Curious how things are going for y'all. Hope you're well!
