New To the Real Estate Scene in Orlando

I'm a 27-year old working as a solid waste consultant here in East Orlando. I'm in the process of breaking my lease and moving into a recently purchased SF home. My landlord is extremely petty and won't fix any repairs, so it finally pushed me over the edge into home ownership. Although, I have to thank him, because I see the potential of real estate investment being my knight-in-shining-armor bringing me to my goal of Financial Independence in the next five years.

I'm looking to meet like-minded folks who can share experiences and advice. No matter if you're locate in Orlando, I'd still be interested in hearing about you. Send me a message or post a reply. Thank you!

Charlie

    @Charlie Pioli

    Sometimes you need something like that to get you started! How are you thinking about starting?

    Well, instead of telling my landlord to go "F" himself, I called him up and told him I'm interested in buying the apt. He was flattered, and we are negotiating a price. I don't really know what I'm doing, but I was trying to think like a real estate investor. Do you have any advice? Like how would you do your homework to find the max price you'd offer? He would give me a 5k discount if I paid in cash, but I don't have the amount of cash he's asking (120k versus 125k if I were to finance). How would you go about this?

    I appreciate any advice you can offer.
