My Name is David Franke and I am new to real estate investing. I have not done a deal yet, but I am excited to make it happen. I am currently a Project Manager for a commercial GC in the Portland, OR market. The goal is to apply my 10 years of commercial experience to the resident market. I enjoy construction but its now time to do it for myself, own the risk, and invest in real estate full time. Welcome to BiggerPockets. Your previous experiences as a Project Manager will be very valuable to your investing career. You have a great advantage having that experience. Good luck on your endeavors.
I am looking forward to it and getting started. I can say that I am defiantly learning patience but I am glad to have found bigger pockets and such a large network.
Welcome to BP! How do you see your time as a PM for a GC playing out in investing-do you want to fix and flip, buy and hold, locally or at a distance? Your background should help give you a leg up!
Until I build capital, I intend to fix and flip locally (Vancouver/Portland). I have a list of subcontractors to work with so I will not be doing any of the work myself. To get started I have taken on a partner to help distribute the work load so my full time job does not impede this new endeavor.
