Yet another communist freak has been exposed operating in Obama's inner circle. It's quite a show! Can anyone deny that Obama is set on moving this country toward socialism/communism?

As far as I recall....Mother Teresa wasn't responsible for the deaths of millions. And personally I have no problem with her philosophies as long as she's in a position like Mother Theresa - benevolent charity but no political power. In fact in my experience liberals run excellent charities that have no political power but are nonetheless very good and very impactful on people. It's her philosopher on politics and power that concerns me.

You're absolutely correct. That's what I did. After repeatedly telling most of the people on this forum how often they commit logical fallacy, I did it myself. (the big difference being I am admitting it and addressing it)
I absolutely agree that the fact that the source is a drug addict is completely independent of the evidence provided. I retract my entire argument above.
So, let's look at the evidence...
The woman claimed that she respects Mao Tze Tung as a philosopher. She went on to give an innocuous anecdote about him.
MikeOH claims that this proves her to have a "communist/socialist background."
That makes no sense. Was it smart for her to bring up Mao Tze Tung as an example of someone whose philosophy she respected? Probably not.
But to infer from that that she is a communist defies logic. In other words, the burden of proof was never satisfied by the OP on his claim.
So, Matthew, does that logic hold water?

I don't quite get your logic. You think she IS a communist because she was smart enough not to acknowledge it in a speech?
Now THAT doesn't make any sense. It's so ridiculous that I can't really think of a formal logical fallacy to attribute it to...
Hmmm...perhaps negative proof or affirming the consequent...or maybe there's another that has to do with reasoning like a 5-year-old...

I hope no one is using Glenn Beck as their only source of news. Even other conservatives have complained that Glenn doesn't write his own books. There's no way he can write all those books in between his TV schedule and the radio show, and public appearances. How many books has he put out this year?

Ok, I just had the funniest experience today at a Barnes and Noble. Found a book called, "Stuff White People Like" and ran across a reference to "The Daily Show". As luck would have it, a little google search revealed that a shortened this entry is also online. Check out the book though. The entire version is hilarious.

The Daily Show is for liberals what O'Reilly is for conservatives. They're both heavily biased, but presented as non-partisan (and both pretty unsuccessful at it).
The big difference though is that apparently a lot of big-name conservatives like and respect Jon Stewart:

Luckily, it turns out that my negotiating and business strategy skills were worth a lot of money to those same companies...so I was quickly able to give up my lame attempts at being a computer programmer...
