Best Austin brokerage / starting off as an agent in Austin

I'm a licensed agent in Austin, TX looking for recommendations on a brokerage to join. I have experience as an agent in Dallas and Brooklyn, NY, but recently relocated to Austin. I would love to hear from some agents in Austin that can recommend a brokerage based on experience. I'm looking forward to hearing from some of you and thanks in advance!

There are many good brokerage out there. My advise is to find one that fits you. If you need/want training and more face-to-face time, one of the bigger ones will work. Maybe you like to work virtually, there are one that do that. You might like the feel of a smaller group. I like eXp because it allows me flexible to work on my own and provides a bunch of tools I could not afford on my own. This works for me. It is not for everyone. I wish you the best going forward.

    Primarily the splits, culture and broker. I think more important the brokerage is the finding the right broker. I would say since you are not totally new this would be a good fit for you. Here are some of their corporate pitch videos

    @Tyler Austin I’m with Keller Williams at the SW Market Center as well. Been there for 4 years. It is the #1 producing KW office in the US and the original KW office. Amazing collection of talent under one roof and everyone is generous with their support.

    I would interview with several and see what you think is the best fit.   I also advise people to attend a class in the office.  Everyone tells you they have training, but seeing the classroom, the training calendar, and experiencing the class can help cut the meat from the bone.  Some may not allow you to attend classes without being an agent in their office.  Some may not have training rooms, some may not have a training calendar.   That should tell you something and help you make a decision.  Attending a class may tell you something about the culture. 

    Do you want to join a team...or be your own guy?   There are benefits to both.

    Of course I love Keller Williams.....Growing Like Crazy...company will probably double in size in the next 3 years, profitable, debt free , profit shares, developing some of the best technology on the planet....nice place to be.

    That’s all good info. I actually grew up in Coppell also.

    I’ve talked to some different KW teams, but I haven’t considered going it solo with KW. I’ve been a solo agent before, and am hoping to find a jump start to making money from a team. What would you say the biggest benefits to being on a team vs on your own are? I’d figure on a team, jumpstart business. On your own, make more income later on as you don’t have such a high split.

    Hey man! I definitely agree to with Anthoney and put my recommendation in for eXp realty as well. It seems like you’re still undecided as to whether you want to join a team or operate independently and as Anthoney mentioned it can offer a lot of flexibility because of its cloud based nature. If you’re looking for a team to join I’m sure there’s a lot of teams out in Austin that are looking for a motivated agent like yourself!

    Find one that fits your personality and investment needs. Many restrict the types of transactions you can do.

    I agree with @Bruce Lynn and @Danny Webber. Interview many of them. I can recommend several, but it really depends what you are looking for. Many of the large offices have great training, but may be restrictive on the types of transactions or may not even be aware about different types of investor transactions. However, smaller offices may be limited on the amount of support they can provide you...so it also really depends on how comfortable your are being on your own. And all of them have a different feel or culture, so you'll have to explore which you'll fit in best with.
