I'm thoroughly convinced that "research" is the enemy of building wealth.

It's nothing more than a fancy way to stall.

And it crushes so many people.

They sit around:
Analyzing one more deal

Watching one more YouTube video

Waiting for the market to "settle down"

In what I like to call "Perpetual Prep Mode"

Always getting ready… to get ready.

The people who actually build wealth do the opposite.

• They start

• They ask "dumb" questions out loud

• They invest small amounts to learn the ropes

• They surround themselves with people who have done it before

So here's my challenge for you today:

What are you constantly researching that just needs to be done?

What are you overanalyzing when you already know enough to make a decision?

If you've been stuck in "analysis paralysis" for months or even years…

I want you to take ONE action step that will genuinely progress towards building long term wealth.

The key word being “action”

what will your action step today be?

I would argue that over analysis is the enemy as I believe research is needed. I think where people fail miserably is they do not have a plan with goals and timelines. When you do not have a plan with a timeline or an end date to do something like 'invest by this date', then they just continue floating down the river in window shopping for perpetuity because they will always find a reason why they cannot do what they were anticipating on doing.

Thanks for the reminder. For me it's systems. I like to go but have a hard time sitting down and working on these background items

I relate to that. What’s helped me is blocking small, non negotiable time just for systems work so it doesn’t get pushed aside. Those quiet foundation pieces usually make everything else move faster later

I agree with you and maybe I wasn’t wording my original point clearly. I absolutely believe research is necessary. A solid plan with clear goals and timelines absolutely.

What I’m noticing, though, both here and in other forums, is that many people aren’t stuck because they lack information, they’re stuck because they’re waiting to feel fully ready.

Research and planning matter. But so does execution. At some point, progress requires a decision and a bit of courage.

I agree with @Chris Seveney , I wouldn't tackle any kind of investment without a good understanding of what I'm investing in.  That takes research.

Having goals and a stop by step plan is what leads to success.  Without proper understanding, planning and actions one commits by default to unplanned failure.

Alot of people just like talking and thinking about things; starting a business, getting healthier, quitting a bad habit.  However, it's the doing that counts most.  Even getting started with one small step is great for building momentum.  Research is part of the process, but it has to go quickly beyond that if you're going to accomplish anything meaningful.  The smallest actions make a difference.

This hits hard. I learned to set decision deadlines - "analyze 5 deals this week, make an offer on the best one." Breaks the endless loop. What's one thing you've been researching forever that you could just test small?
