Hi all,
I am looking for some advice on a gas plumbing job so I can talk sensibly before giving the job it to a professional. The pipeline between female ends labeled A and B needs to be replaced.
The inner thread diameter of the end A is greater than end B. Can someone with experience of the plumbing city code in Dallas TX comment on what/how this can be done.
My proposed solution is to remove the cut of portions and replace them with the following configuration:

Milind,
Yes, your solution will work and is the right way to do the repair, just make sure you seal all the threads real good and test the joints with spray to make sure no gas is leaking out of them. you may want to test as many of the old joints that you can as well, just to make sure no gas is leaking out of them.

Hey folks! So we had a gas inspection and got a red tag. :|
The inspector said no unions and bushings should be there in the attic; I agree.
Any suggestions on the best way to quickly fix this issue and route a nipple from a 90 degree elbow (on the right) to a T-junction (on the left) but without a union/reducer?
One end of the T goes to a stove and the other end splits into a boiler and HVAC.

Even if you had enough play in the pipe to slide a pipe and reducer in there, you would not be able to thread them together, that's why the Union works. the only other solution is:
Tee l narrow nipple l Reducer l flex gas line fitting l Flex gas line l fitting l nipple.
Tee l narrow nipple l Reducer l flex gas line fitting l Flex gas line l fitting l nipple.
Thanks for the reply @Patrick. Can a CSST flex gas be sandwiched between 2 black iron pipes (i.e. is this possible: Meter| yellowPipe | transition| elbow | blackMetalPipe | elbow | blackMetalPipe | flexFitting | flexLine | flexFitting| blackMetalPipe | Tee | ... | appliances ) ?
Don't why I thought that flex gas can only go at terminal ends of the lines.

Milind,
As long as all the piping is rated for gas, and is installed according to code and manufacturers instructions, you should be able to switch between them.
