What to/not Buy At The Big Box Stores?

Flippers, Contractors, Anyone Really...

What items have you found you should buy at the big box stores and what items you should not and shop at the smaller supply houses? Such like vanities, flooring, trims, windows ect etc.

I have found trim to be better at the smaller places and sometimes lumber

But drywall, paint and cabinets (depending on the type) cheaper at the big box stores. What’s your experience?

I have been using amazon for a lot of our finishes things like faucets,waterlines, light fixtures, cabinet handles, pendent lights, bulbs, flooring padding... things like that. Those HD/Lowes trips are a pain & a waste of time.

Still working on the vanities/tops/drywall/durrock/plumbing/wood/toilets/. We can't seem to find convenience/better prices then the big box stores.

Flooring - We try to sample online and just make big orders after we find something we like.

We are also going to be getting a huge storage unit pretty soon and buy bulk quantities of items that we use all the time.

We do a supply store for our flooring. They seem to be a hair cheaper. Plus they are alittle more "hungry" can usually get installed same week.

Also our hvac system comes from a supplier. But that's just because our installer has alittle bit of a hook up.
