What is the cheapest and best flooring to use in rentals?

Purchasing a duplex and need flooring, etc.

Pick a LVP with a 12mm layer that is installed via floating method.  Durable, pretty cheap on materials and labor.  We have a Floor & Decor here where I can pick it up for around $1 a sq foot and then pay $1.50 for labor, plus shoe mold.

You can also use a glue down lvp that requires a bit more skill to install (my guy charges $1.50 sq/ft) but is a lot easier to replace when a tenant damages a piece. Instead of having to disconnect the planks to replace the damaged piece, you can use a heat gun to peel up the single plank and glue a new one back down.

hey Kaleb,

since the glue down doesn't lock in place, it's easier to replace a damage piece in the middle of the floor vs having to disconnect the interconnected pieces back to the wall.
