How can there be a tax lien on a house after the owners have gone thru a bankuptcy?  This house is in the Atlanta area.  I have a strong lead on this house and could use some help on working thru this problem.  PM me or email me .

BK does not wipe out everything people. Do some research. With that said, IRS tax liens are rarely pursued after a transfer of title. YMMV.

Tax liens follow the property, not the debtor, and cannot be forgiven or wiped out through bankruptcy.

Are IRS tax lien handled the same as property tax liens?  This lien is by the IRS.

IRS tax liens are not wiped out by receiving a tax deed. However I have never heard of the IRS foreclosing on their lien.

A Lawyer told me to just hold the property and rent it for 10 years or longer.

Other option is to see if IRS will release lien since they are trying to get money from previous owner who no longer owns property once you are deeded property.

Same answer, the Tax Lien follows the property.  http://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/bankruptcy-tax-debts-eliminating-29550.html
