I have purchased a tax certificate for a property in Jefferson county Alabama from the state. How do you aquire the tax deed once the certificate is past the 3 year mark from the date of the sale to the state? County courthouse? Request the deed from the state?

Thanks

@Gene Walker, take your certificate to the probate judge where the property is assessed (Jefferson or Cutoff), pay $5, fill out the application for a deed and wait for the deed to come in the mail.
