Contact Management Software

Contact Management Software

I searched the forums here but couldn't find this. In an effort to INCREASE my efficiency and to keep me of top of tasks that I know I should be doing but don't.

The 'efficiency and tracking' that I want to become better at has to do with networking and keeping track of all the people in my funnel. These people would be: my cash buyers, realtors (that I'm pursing to get pocket leads), potential money partners, sellers that have told me to call back later, my Rolodex of people I've met...

I'd like some good system that does the following:
-Person's name with notes about them (kids name, favorite sport..)
-Organize them by category (commercial realtor, cash buyer...)
-Keeps track of my interaction with them. Like, took to lunch on April 25th, sent email about upcoming event...
-IMPORTANT---schedule an interaction with them at a specific time in the future. Like "May 1-take Joe to lunch" or "email all buyers every 60 days" with a mass email that doesn't look like a mass email.

I know there is ACT and Goldmine as powerful contact management systems. Seems like what I want is sort of simple...maybe? Do i need something that robust? I also am switching to MAC so, maybe, there is an Apple product?

Thanks for the replies!

Julie Groth - I don't have any recommendations for you, but we do have a system here on BP where you can take notes on any user by clicking on the NOTES tab on their profile. I personally use it to keep track of conversations and other interactions with our membership.

Julie Groth, in my fileplace I put an Access database that does most of what you want and can be customized to fit your needs.

    I hope that helps.

James, thank you for the example. But, I did want some integration with a calender and task manager.

I happened upon "Daylight" by Marketcircle, which integrates with MAC. It looks perfect!! I want to do some more research before I take the plunge and, maybe, try a trial version (if they have it).

    Anyone use this?

Yes, iCloud is one of the main reasons for switching to MAC.

Gerald Levin iPhone not necessary but I believe you do need to be running OS Lion. I hear good things about this program.

I haven't found anything in a mac that is close to ACT SAGE which is awesome! The closest thing to something good was Jobpro Central. I did find it to be better for import/export type of business IMO. Also, I tried the realestateinvestor software. It was good, but lacking on modifications. I even had to download parallels, windows vista to run it on my mac.

By far the best CRM I found that might work for you like it has worked for me is ZOHO CRM. You can customize and do lots of nifty things to it. I could babble on and on about zoho, but I don't want to sound like I work for the company. They give you a free trial, so my best guess is to try it!

David, Isn't OS Lion software for MAC? I run iCloud on Windows 7 as I don't have any MAC's, just PC's so OS Lion is not required. Just download the software for free, install and when you post on your contact management, your contact changes immediately and it is there immediately available by any computer. Password/ID protected of course. Free and I love it.

    Edgar,

I'm a little confused. I thought ACT SAGE was a CRM program? Yet, you say the best is ZOHO. Please explain further.

The thing I'm really looking forward to in MAC is the email, address book, calendars. I'm sick of Microsoft products. The interface is just not as easy, you have to click too many times to achieve something simple.

Also, I think, the integration of email, contacts, calendar with computer and phone will be superior. Then, add to that, some robust CRM program. ....I'll be ESW! (Efficiency Super Woman) :)

    Hope so anyway.

    Julie,
Yes ACT Sage is a crm program, but isn't available for the mac. Zoho is web-based CRM.

BTW: i like the ESW (efficiency super woman)

Check out this website. I think it offers everything you are asking for. It is a paid for service.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've determined that I don't like web based applications (for whatever quirky reason). I like it downloaded on my computer.

Gerald Levin You're right, it runs on both platforms. I'm running Snow Leopard and haven't upgraded to Lion yet, so I'm unable to try it out.

This may be slightly overkill depending on what you want to do with your contacts, but I would consider salesforce. Its very powerful and customizable. Downside to it is cost, and depending on how much you want it to do, you may need to hire a coder to get the most out of it.
