In addition to the REIAs and REIC meets we should all be going to, I was thinking of setting up a meet up for just us SoFlo Newbies. It's a good chance to meet more fellow BPers over some brews. We can share our newby experiences, trials, hardships, and successes and just make some new friends! We all know it can be intimidating out here as first timers, so what better way than to connect with a bunch of us on the same level! One thing I've learned so far, it's been extremely motivating meeting like-minded people with the same energy, drive, and passion.
I saw some interest in another Ft. Lauderdale meetup post, but I don't think it really panned out. So If anyone in this SoFlo area is interested, just comment below if you're interested, and even a good place to go if you have a suggestion. Invite your friends, family, pastor, dog, whoever. Let's just have a good relaxed time.
If we get any feedback, I'll set something up. Funky Buddah?

&You know you can count me in! How about starting a weekly or monthly meet up?
I've connected with newbies all over the place but I really want to form or be in a power group in South Florida. Right now there's a group of REI that meet up at Del Rey Beach and along time about there was a group doing a meet up/s at MIA Brewery.
But a meet up for newbies would be nice. I think it will be even better to meet up with a purpose in sharing brilliant ideas and brainstorming. We need passion driven people with a desire to succeed!
Just to throw some ideas out and we don't have to do all of these....
Meet up 1 day a week,
Make a Facebook group,
Have a group chat,
Video chat 1 day a week,
.... To keep constant communication and hold each other accountable. :)

Hey Team,
I just relocated from NY down to Fort Lauderdale and its actually perfect timing that i stumbled on this discussion. I've made 100's of thousands of dollars in real estate investing and i'm looking forward to duplicating my efforts down here. The most important key to success is having a strong team so i hope this energy that you started @Mitchell T. hasn't dissipated. Worse come to worse id be more than happy to pick up where you left off. Lets stay in touch!

YAY, I'm not the only newbie looking to connect with other like-minded people. I'm sure most of us newbies most likely have similar questions and concerns about getting started in REI. I'm located in Deerfield and currently own my house (no investments yet) Let's get a meetup going!!!
Hey guys. I'm in Plantation and I'd be interested in a meet up. Just got back from Memphis, TN where I purchased my first buy and hold investment. We should try and get an informal meet up together in the next couple weeks.
Brandon did you go to Memphis Investment Properties summit or one of the other PM events? I closed on a property in Memphis in April and had considered attending the investor summit.
@Jeff Goodale I attended a two day seminar that included the Memphis in May bbq. I wanted to go to the bbq and network but was limited on time so I drive the neighborhood instead.
The event was hosted by James Wachob not Memphis Investment Properties. He did a fantastic job and it's definitely worth the trip. Met many great people, some who had purchased properties from him in the past. So far nothing but positive vibes from James Wachob.
I was actually interested in purchasing a property MIP had advertised but they really didn't respond to my call. I left a voicemail that I was interested in more information and all i received was a text with the proforma and a few hours later a text saying "the property sold. "
The next day i receive a sales call from them stating they saw i logged in to their properties page. I mentioned I had wanted to purchase a property but was told it was sold even though it still appeared on their website. He advised he would look into it and get back to me with the status of the property in a couple hours. Never received a call.
Not bashing them because they have many positive reviews on BP but as am OOS investor, it didn't give me any confidence.
