I wanted to announce that I will be hosting the next UBBNE event on December 11th. I've provided the details below but if you want to be on my email list, please message me with your email address so you can get updates on the events.
Place: Sea Dog Brew Pub in Woburn, MA Date & Time: December 11th, 6:30pm - 9:00pm
Event Details: Please join me at the next Unofficial BiggerPockets Boston Networking Event. The event will include a Q&A segment at the beginning followed by networking. The Q&A segment will allow the group to collectively answer any questions you may have related to the following topics:
- Getting Started in Real Estate
- Marketing to Motivated Sellers
- Analyzing a Rehab Deal
- Rehab Related Issues
This should be a fun and informative event and I look forward to seeing you there!
About the Group: These meetings are designed to provide high quality interaction between real estate investors to share ideas and for networking purposes. These meetings will be smaller than most local events to provide easier communication within the group. These are FREE EVENTS held in a relaxed, informal atmosphere. There will never be any up-selling or multi-level marketing at these group meetings. Please note that we are not directly affiliated with BiggerPockets, however, this group was created to build on the local business relationships that have been formed within the BiggerPockets community.
Venue Info: Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Space is limited at the venue so be sure to get there on time.

@Justin Silverio the first meeting was great and I made some very helpful contacts. The format for the next meeting will be very interesting. It should be like an oral BiggerPockets Forum. Maybe we should hold up placards which show how many answers (posts), votes and awards we have. :-)

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I had a lot of fun and was thrilled with the turn out. What did you think about the format of the Q&A segment? Other than it being a little difficult to hear, it seemed like people really enjoyed it.

The noise level with that other rowdy group next door was the biggest issue. :)
I am wondering if it would be beneficial to maybe pick some topics like you did but solicit questions beforehand and synthesize similar ones into things to pose to the group.
It seemed like it was a little hard to get some initial questions out there but once there was something on the table people really jumped into answering them, giving their experiences and asking good follow up ones.
I'm going to see if I can use a microphone at the next event to alleviate that issue.
Also, I thought about getting questions ahead of time but felt that it would take away from the personalized manner of the format. I think people get a better sense of involvement and interaction if they can ask a question and start a discussion. Also, I know I would be more apt to put in my 2 cents if I could direct my answer to the person asking the question rather than some guy at the front. :)
I did have some back up questions in case no one spoke up but I really didn't want to have to resort to them. Luckily someone got the ball rolling.
Thanks for the feedback Shaun. It's very helpful, especially considering that there are no other networking events that have something like the open forum segment.

Thanks @Shaun Reilly , I realized this was an old post right after I posted. I'm probably not going to be able to make this one due to work but I'm sure it will be another great turn out.
