I am curious to see how others got into this industry. I want to become an investor someday and I figured learning on the job was the way to go for me. Obviously real estate investing is a very popular market to be in and I am just curious how some of you got started.

I totally agree with Daniel Tanasa. Real Estate is a gigantic field fully packed with a lot of potential and opportunities to make our dreams come true. I wish you all the best in your journey.
I had a friend who was a broker and called me when a house in need of rehab came up that was a decent deal. I bought it, did live-in rehab and then started selling RE for a few years which put me in touch with investors, trades people and gave me hands on experience. Selling RE wasn't my bag but I continued the live-ins and carried a few single family LTRs along the way. I started with one STR in a nice beach town. RE investments changed my life for the better. Welcome to the Real Estate world.
Real Estate is the industry that creates the most millionaires in the US, so if you're serious about it, you can do it. You don't need to reinvent the wheel, just follow the blueprint. That's the reason I became a real estate investor and it definitely changed my life.
