Wholesaling and Finding houses not on MLS

Hello group. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this group. I am a little new to real estate, but I desperately want to learn so I can be successful like many of you are. I am an American citizen living in Thailand but I want to see if anyone can please help me with some information. I have 2 questions please:

1) My close friend recommended I get into wholesaling. He said it can be done remotely, but I have no idea how to start. By the way, if someone can help me, I am always happy to send that person a cut of what I make because they help me make it. Can someone tell me how to begin wholesaling remotely from abroad?

2) That same friend is offering me money to find houses that are NOT on the MLS. I googled that you need to know a realtor or network but I don't know how. Is there a website that can help me find houses for sale not on the market?
