New Investor in Charlotte, Looking to Learn & Connect”
Hi BiggerPockets community,
My name is Caled V. I’m 29 and recently moved to the Charlotte, NC/SC area. I work full-time as a registered nurse and also have a background in Forex, Futures, Options, and Commodities trading. Now I’m ready to start putting my income and discipline into real estate investing.
I’m completely new to real estate — I’ve never owned a home and don’t have any deals under my belt yet. That said, I’ve been learning about wholesaling, licensing/regulations in my area, and formulas like MAO. From trading, I understand the importance of patience, persistence, and networking, and I’m prepared to put in the work.
I’d love to connect with people in the Charlotte area who are open to sharing advice, insights, or even just the occasional conversation with someone motivated to learn.
What advice would you give someone just getting started?
Thanks,
Caled

Welcome, Caled! With your trading background and mindset, you're already bringing key skills into real estate: discipline, risk management, and data-driven thinking. Charlotte's a strong market, and starting with wholesaling while learning local regs and deal analysis is a solid path. My advice: focus on consistent networking, shadow experienced investors when possible, and don't rush your first deal. The right foundation will take you far. Happy to connect and support you on your REI journey!
