Selecting a farm area for wholesaling in San Antonio

I'm new to investing and I want to begin as a birddog/wholesaler, preferably wholesaling.  I'm doing a lot of research, learning and also ready to take action.  Any advice on choosing a farm area here in the San Antonio area?

Are there good opportunities to wholesale in surrounding cities like Kerrville, Boerne, etc., or is San Antonio metro the place to be?

In San Antonio there are more investors or buyer of your properties than out in the smaller towns. So it would be easier to get rid of a property in the city. If you are pretty connected in Bandera, I would think that you could find properties and sell them to friends an/or family with little effort. It is all a matter of having a network of buyers ready to purchase your GOOD deals.
