If you could go back to being 18, having only $500, what would you do to put yourself on the path to sustainable success?
Would you drive for dollars? Cold call? Buy a mailing list? Buy $500 worth of books?
Imagine this is your situation and you have blank slate. What would you do?

If you are talking strictly in real estate, I would probably get my real estate license and then find a great mentor to teach you about the business. You will learn a lot more about real estate than just buying and selling houses. Connect with investors, property management professionals, commercial and residential brokers to learn everything you can first hand.
However, if it does not have to be REI I would try to find an industry or career you can be passionate about. I would go to school (trade school or college) on student loans and work my butt off studying and working (Uber, Lyft,Waiting Tables, Reffing Sports) to keep my debt low but gain an education.

Education beyond a bachelor's degree is supremely over-rated! Invest that money into something that will get you into your career right away. RE license and training will get you moving pretty quickly.
