Hi all. In contract on a SFR in the Houston area and looking for recommendations for an investor friendly insurance provider. Thanks in advance for your recs.
Also, any tips or recommendations for types of insurance to be getting to make sure I'm covered would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Emily,
I use Liberty Mutual for homeowners coverage and haven't had any issues.
As far as type of insurance, you'll definitely want general liability and E/O. I use a company called Hiscox and they are very easy to work with. The specialize in real estate insurance programs. They also tend to be a lot less expensive than the others.

Thanks, @Fred Heller . Might you be able to elaborate on what you get through Liberty Mutual and what you get through Hiscox? Why not get everything from the same place?

Liability yes; E&O no way this is needed.
Depending on the activities you are engaging in with this investment property, you might need builder's risk, vacant property coverage, possibly followed by a policy for landlords (fire, loss of income for example in addition to liability). A good agent should be able to guide you.
