For people who rent by the room instead of just renting per unit/residence, how much do you typically charge in rent? I understand this is very dependent on location but how much less than renting per unit do you charge tenants? Just trying to get a general sense of what rent looks like for these types of deals.

@Charlie Bemis examine what 1 bedroom or studio apartments rent for in your area. You can adjust for square footage if you need but that's the most consistent method to finding out what you can rent a bedroom for in a house.

I have 3 houses I rent by the room. I'd say my average rent is $700/month per room. And I get $1000-$1175/month for the master bedrooms that have a private built in bathroom. After all my expenses and no vacancies, my average profit for each house is about $1500-$1800/month. But I'm dealing with more drama and headaches compared to my normal LTRs that average about $600/month each in profit.
