Looking to Get Started in Rental Property Management

Looking to Get Started in Rental Property Management

Member since 2026 · 5 posts · 0 votes

Hey everyone! My name is Taziyah, and I’m based in the Dallas/DFW area. I currently work in logistics, where I’m used to staying organized, managing daily operations, and making sure things get handled correctly.

I’m looking to get into rental property management and short-term rentals, and I’m currently looking for my first opportunity to work with a property owner or manager. I’m dependable, hardworking, willing to learn, and interested in building long-term experience in real estate and property management.

If anyone in the Dallas/DFW area needs help managing a rental, short-term rental, or Airbnb—or knows of an opportunity for someone getting started—I’d love to connect!

    Hey Taziyah,

    Your logistics background actually translates really well into property management. Staying organized, coordinating vendors, communicating with people, and keeping things moving are all a big part of the job.

    Since you're looking for your first opportunity, I'd definitely join your local REIA and other investor groups around DFW. That's probably one of the best ways to meet local landlords and property managers who may need help or be willing to let you shadow them.

    Don’t just go in looking for a job either. Build relationships, let people know what you’re trying to learn, and you’ll probably come across opportunities organically.

    Good luck. Happy to answer any questions you may have - my DMs are always open!

      @Mohammed Rahman

      Thank you! I really appreciate the advice. I honestly didn’t realize how much my logistics experience could transfer into property management. I’m definitely going to look into the REIA and investor groups around DFW and start networking. I appreciate you taking the time to give me some direction!

      @Drew Sygit

      I’m interested in property management because I like the logistics and organizational side of things, and I feel like my current warehouse/logistics experience could transfer well. I’m looking to learn more about the industry, gain hands-on experience, and eventually build something for myself in real estate. I’m still learning, but I’m genuinely interested in seeing where it can take me.
