First of all welcome to the forums @Oshri Miller!

Honestly, this is one of the hardest questions in the game, not just in Indy. The good ones are always busy — if a GC has wide open availability the second you call them, that's usually a red flag, not a good sign. The guys actually worth working with are booked out, and you kind of have to earn your way into their schedule.

Word of mouth is genuinely the best way to find a good one, and posting here is a smart first move for exactly that reason. One thing to keep in mind though — some people will hold their GC info close to the chest because a good contractor is a competitive advantage, so you won't always get a straight answer, and even when you do get a name, take it with a grain of salt and vet it yourself. Don't just hire off a forum recommendation blind.

Whatever names you end up with, do the legwork before you hand anyone a project: check reviews, verify their license is active, ask for references from actual recent jobs (not just their favorites), and if you can, go look at a property they've worked on in person. It's slower than just picking someone, but it's a lot cheaper than finding out the hard way.

I'm an agent here in Indy and work with a fair number of investors, so I've got some names I trust — happy to compare notes if it'd help. But even then, do your own diligence on anyone, mine included.
