Does anyone have experience with buying properties at auction in Hillsborough County? I ahve done this before in Ohio, where all the liens were wiped at bidding, meaning once you got the deed, you didn't have to worry about any outstanding liens. Does anyone know exactly how it works in Hillsborough County?

Two public checks that save me from bad tax-deed bids in South Florida:
1) County PA: homestead + just/assessed — if homestead is still on, your post-sale story changes.
2) Clerk: open cases / recorded docs on the folio — don’t trust the auction preview alone; click through to the official source and note the retrieval date.
I keep a VERIFIED vs NOT_FOUND tag on each field so I’m honest when the county site blanks out.
