Hey everyone! I'm Madox, I recently graduated from UGA and moved to Atlanta to start my career in investment real estate.
I currently work with investors throughout the Atlanta market and spend most of my time learning different areas, analyzing deals, and talking with people who are actively buying, flipping, and holding properties.
Long term I want to build my own portfolio and continue growing with the real estate industry. It seems like this is a great place to learn from people who have been doing this a lot longer than I have.
Would love to connect with other Atlanta investors on here or other investors in general. Always eager to learn and develop more relationships.
Welcome, @Madox Miller —and congratulations on graduating and getting started in Atlanta! Working directly with investors while learning neighborhoods, analyzing deals, and seeing different strategies in action is a great foundation for eventually building your own portfolio.
One of the best things you can do at this stage is keep studying real deals—even the ones you do not pursue—and stay connected with investors who are actively buying, renovating, and managing properties. Over time, that repetition will help you sharpen your buy box, recognize neighborhood-level differences, and become more confident in your underwriting.
Atlanta has a large and diverse investor community, so you are in a good place to build meaningful relationships.
Welcome, Madox! I've heard Atlanta is a great market to learn in, and it sounds like you’re getting some solid experience by working directly with active investors. Best of luck building your own portfolio excited to see where the journey takes you!

@Madox Miller, working directly with active investors this early in your career is going to expose you to a lot that you just can’t learn from studying deals on paper. One thing I’d pay attention to is what happens after everyone decides a deal looks good. That’s often when the contract, title, due diligence, and other details start telling the rest of the story.
I’ve worked with investors where a property looked like a great opportunity at first, but something came up during the legal review that needed to be addressed before they could comfortably move forward. Seeing how experienced investors handle those situations can teach you just as much as watching the deals that go smoothly.
It sounds like you’re in a good position to learn from a lot of different people, @Madox Miller. I’m a real estate attorney and investor, so I always enjoy connecting with professionals who work with investors from another side of the business. Happy to stay connected as you build your career and eventually your own portfolio.
