I've always found the background check services do not do a thorough job so I always overlay that service with my own gumshoe due diligence (talking directly to immediate supervisors, ensuring the previous "landlord" owns the property, checking social media, etc.).Never rely exclusively on these services.

One potential advantage is to elect to have the operating LLC taxed as a corporation, which is taxed at a flat 21% rate (although if dividends are paid out they are additionally taxed) or an S corporation, where net income is “passed thru” to you individually but no social security or Medicare tax is due.

The reason is that flipping is earned income subject to FICA (social security tax {14%]) With an S Corp some of your income can be a salary subject to the FICA tax and some can be a "Dividend" which is NOT subject to FICA tax.I think @Ryan Coon has said some things that might be misleading.

Also, some jurisdictions reassess on sale, others don’t unless major improvements are done so you'd want to check with your county's tax assessor’s office before making moves.Lastly, keep in mind the legal and loan implications of transferring to an LLC especially if there’s a mortgage involved due-on-sale clause risk.Hope this helps, anyone else here tried this strategy or challenged their tax assessment?
