We’re operating again, and everyone involved: owner, neighbors, city, Airbnb, seems content with where things landed.That said, this was extremely unsettling and has me rethinking how we, as hosts and managers, can realistically protect against something like this.I had always believed that:Avoiding sketchy areasPricing high enoughEnforcing quiet hours, guest limits, and no-party rulesUsing exterior cameras…were enough.I also don’t think this would have happened in the summer when rates are 3–4x higher, but NYE wasn’t a cheap weekend either.
