I'm Corey from Northern Indiana about 40 min northwest if Ft Wayne. I have been on the forums for quite a while lurking just have never introduced my self. I'm looking into getting in buy and holds. I've been reading Rich dad poor dad and the rich dad cash flow quadrant. Can't wait to make my first purchase.
Corey Jacobs Welcome to BP. Sounds like you already have your strategy figured out, so that's great. Have you read the Beginner's Guide to Investing? Go to top of page, and click on Learn. Also, you may want to set up the keyword alerts for things like buy and hold, your city, or whatever you'd like to be notified of when there's a post in the forums. You may need to be a paid member, but it's well worth it.
Also, consider uploading a pic to your profile, gives it a more personal touch. Have fun!

Tim W. My plan is to buy and hold. Probably starting out with a few single family homes then wanting to move to some multi family property. My plan is to get started very soon
That book is awesome! It really changed the way I look at money and life in general.
You live in a great state to invest in REI. I live in California and I own a duplex in Indianapolis. There are a lot of good deals to be had in Indiana.
I suggest making sure your credit is in tip-top shape while you're priming yourself to jump on your first deal. Buying a few books can't hurt either.
I've been on the forums now for about a week. It's probably a great thing for you to know that most of the new members in Indiana have been in the Fort Wayne or North East area in Indy.
I hope the market up there is great!
Mehran Kamari nice post with the best books link! I just finished FLIP! by Rick Villani and Clay Davis. Any recommendation for the next book? I'm looking to start off wholesaling.

Taylor Jennings no problem! You should thank the guy that made the list though! Brandon Turner. I'd say for the next book, you should check out J Scott's two books for sale on the Biggerpockets store "The Book On Flipping Houses" & "The Book On Estimating Rehab Costs".
Corey Jacobs Challenges are doing your due diligence/market analysis thoroughly & making sure you have good property management in place(with a well written contract). You need to be extra careful verifying every piece of information you're receiving. It get's much easier once you have things lined up in a city, since all you have to do after that is find another good deal.
Brandon Turner Corey Jacobs I've been trying to play that cash flow game for weeks and it never works on any of my computers or tablets. I think it would be a very helpful resource but I can't seem to make it work.
Scott Kelley it works ok every once in a while. I can maybe make it through 1 Out of 4 games played. But when you can play it is really a fun game. What are you trying to play on? IE, chrome, safari?
Corey Jacobs I've tried all 3 browsers. It always just gets to the loading screen with the animated rat running and then never progresses. I gave up and tried my ios devices too but neither my phone nor ipad seem to work.. Maybe you and I can connect sometime and I can try to join a game you're playing. I wonder if it's just a problem when I try to start the game..
Scott Kelley Yeah we can try that out sometime. Also it wont work on your IOS devices. Since there is no flash capabilities on IOS it will not work.. I use my Macbook in safari or Chrome. I do have issues at times joining games.
