I'll start this new topic off! I just wanted to send best wishes and a quick recovery to the Pope. It's pretty sad to see him begin to decline in health.

I know what you mean, I'm not Catholic but you've got to admire him for all he's seen and done in his life. I may have misheard but I thought I heard a newsreader say the other day that he is the longest serving Pope.* I'm sure he's the longest serving in my lifetime but I didn't know if that holds up going back in history.

*Along those lines a year or so ago, about time of high school and college graduations I saw something about that year's graduates. That they had not known a time without remote controls for TVs, had never seen a "dial" telephone and had not seen the smoke rising over the Vatican.

Its strange seeing a figure like the Pope going throught what he is going through. I can't imagine what the whole "catholic" world will do at his passing. Very sad thought.

Looks like he's out of the hospital again and seems to be healthy! I'm happy to see that!

It's too bad he had to pass away. JP II was a good man. RIP

But he left a profound mark on the world and will live forever in history. God bless you, John Paul.

He certainly left his mark on the world. I hope Pope Benedict XVI has as good an impact on the planet as John Paul II. I guess it all officially starts really soon. I read about the pope having an email address. I wonder how many people really email him.
