I'm in Irving Texas, near DFW. We missed most of the damaging weather. I'll have to admit the NWS (National Weather Service) and the local media were on their game today. Nobody was hurt or killed, considering the amount of damage caused.

Is there any insurance for tornados in TX? And if yes what they pay off 100% of damage or less?

Hope there is only minor damage.

Yes, insurance covers tornado (storm) damage. It pays 100, minus the deductible. The deductible is a small amount, 1% in my case.

Carlos, I'm sorry about your damage.

Good to hear Jon but for the heavy damaged victims small comfort at first time..

I know this from 2002 here in Saxonia with the big flood in Grimma or Dresden, insurance companys paid all very fast and plain but rebuilding take up long time.

All in all 4 billion Euro from the insurance companys and 5 billion euros from the EU/German country. After 2 years town of Grimma was rebuild.

Arlington and Lancaster got hammered bad. It just so happens I had sent a large mailing out to each. Wonder if the storms will improve my response rate?

Carlos F., sorry for your loss. The hail was close enough I heard it, and the twister that rocked Arlington and blew up 360 decided to turn North about a half mile West of me.

Jon K., you were pretty wiped out when I talked to you at 6 or so...looks like you were up most of the night. Any damage to your properties?

Actually, that goes out to all the DFW investors...is everyone OK? Any damage done to any of your holdings?

I just watched the weather channel. They had a video of Texas and a tornado was lifting and throwing cargo car boxes weighing 16,000 pounds around like feathers.

They were going way in the air and very far fast.

Awesome and very scary at the same time.

I'm glad everyone is doing well. Some scary stuff watching it on the news.

This thread reminded me to contact my PM in Central TX about my rental.

Glad everyone here is ok. The weather was pretty intense yesterday. I have a close relative that works in the nursing home that was torn up in Arlington. I'm shocked and thankful no one was killed.

Carlos F. sorry to hear of your damages. Call me if your roof was damaged. I have a great roofer that has worked out great deals with the Ins. company on a couple of my houses.

The news mentioned 12 injuries and no deaths, considering how populated that area is that is amazing. My family missed the damage as well and so did the office-wharehouse....lucky.

Carlos sorry to hear you got hit, it will be a pain dealing with the insurance on it I'm sure.

Thanks for kind words everyone. The parking lot at my office looked pretty bad this morning. Major hail damage. Tow trucks have been going in and out all day. They got hit a few minutes before my place.

I have a really good insurance company. They proactively sent emails and texts. Going to be interesting to see what they say about the roof since it was just replaced.

My mailers landed in absentee's mailboxes yesterday. I'm wondering what effect the storm will have on motivation as well. Hope those out of towners have been watching the news.

Jerry Puckett and Carlos F. Good luck with your marketing! We have already recieved sevaral calls from sellers in Lancaster and Arlington. Sadly, the storm made many homes "ugly" yesterday and some home owners do not like the idea of rebuilding.

I've looked at a couple houses in the past that were fire damaged but I've yet to buy one. I know one frnachise owner that swears by these homes and loves working with the Insurance Company to get his rehab funded. He's told me numerous times that burn outs are his best buys.

It will be interesting to see how the leads pan out as I've only worked with Ins. Comp. in regards to roofs.

Stinson Bland My postcards went north of me, to The Colony. I do my own roofs. Well, actually, I buy materials and hire the roofing crew just like roofing companies do.

Glad to hear all you DFW folks are okay. The storms hit pretty hard here in Shreveport but luckily we did not see any of the tornadoes.

I live in Lancaster and I am 6 houses down from where the tornado hit. I am so happy that my house wasn't destroyed but I feel sad for the people down the street from me.

I saw it on the news and it's really scary to see all those things flying.. I've seen truck flying because of these tornadoes.
